You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions,<br />

operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep your invoice with<br />

this manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front cover. Keep the manual and<br />

invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.<br />

Safety Warnings and Precautions<br />

WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce<br />

the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.<br />

Do not walk or drive while wearing <strong>binoculars</strong>.<br />

Observe work area conditions. Do not use product in damp or wet locations. Don’t<br />

expose to rain. Keep work area well lighted.<br />

Store idle equipment. When not in use, product must be stored in a dry location to<br />

inhibit damage. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children.<br />

Use the right tool for the job. Do not modify the headband <strong>binoculars</strong>. There are<br />

certain applications for which this product was designed. Do not use this product for a<br />

purpose for which it was not intended. Never stare into bright lights or the sun as this<br />

can cause eye damage or blindness.<br />

Maintain tools with care. Keep product clean for better and safer performance.<br />

Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate when you<br />

are tired.<br />

Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged<br />

should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its<br />

intended function. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired by a qualified<br />

technician.<br />

Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning<br />

labels if taking prescription medicine to determine if your judgement or reflexes are<br />

impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the <strong>Headband</strong> Binoculars.<br />

Unpacking<br />

When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any<br />

this manual as soon as possible.<br />

This set includes the Binoculars and the <strong>Headband</strong> assembly.<br />

Assembly and Operation<br />

The <strong>binoculars</strong> may be adjusted or used either with or without the head mounting assembly.<br />

To remove the <strong>binoculars</strong> from the head mount assembly, first<br />

release the retaining clip on the front of the <strong>binoculars</strong>. Then<br />

carefully push the eyepiece casing from the support frame, as<br />

shown in Figure A at right.<br />

To reinstall the <strong>binoculars</strong>, slide the retaining clips of the support<br />

frame into the slots in the front and back of the binocular.<br />

Please refer to Figure B below.<br />

Press down on the adjustment buttons on the headband and<br />

over the head strap. Adjust the position of the headband so<br />

that the forehead strap seats approximately one inch above the<br />

eyebrows. Place the free strap ends in the sliding loops.<br />

With the <strong>binoculars</strong> positioned in front of the eyes, adjust its<br />

position by rotating the knob on the right hand side of the<br />

<strong>binoculars</strong>. Turning it counterclockwise will loosen the pivot;<br />

clockwise rotation will tighten the pivot. The mechanism can<br />

adjust the tilt angle as well as horizontal sliding of the <strong>binoculars</strong><br />

to adjust the distance from the face. When the desired position<br />

is obtained, tighten the adjusting knob.<br />

Hold the sides of the supporting frame and raise the binocular<br />

up and away from the face for normal vision.<br />

These <strong>binoculars</strong> are intended for use when stationary, such as watching a sporting<br />

event, or observing wildlife from a fixed position.<br />

NOTE: After use, always store the <strong>Headband</strong> Binoculars in a safe place that is out of reach<br />

of children.<br />
