The Soul <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> <strong>Kabbalah</strong> 105<br />

group ritual <strong>the</strong> outline <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se shells are from <strong>the</strong> Erhenc Body, directed<br />

by <strong>the</strong> Will <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Adept. while <strong>the</strong> outline, color, and shape are all taken<br />

from <strong>the</strong> E<strong>the</strong>ric Body, <strong>the</strong> actual power it gives one is on a higher plane.<br />

This will be discussed in o<strong>the</strong>r papers relating to o<strong>the</strong>r auric bodies later,<br />

though for <strong>the</strong> present <strong>the</strong> basic foundation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir creative form is E<strong>the</strong>ric<br />

energy or energy directed from <strong>the</strong> E<strong>the</strong>ric Body. It is this energy that is<br />

felt and sometimes seen by those clairvoyant enough during ritual.<br />

THE SEVEN CENTERS<br />

The Seven centers <strong>of</strong> man, commonly called chakras (from <strong>the</strong> Sanskrit<br />

meaning "wheel"), are indicated on <strong>the</strong> floor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Vault as <strong>the</strong> sevenheaded<br />

dragon. Here are all <strong>the</strong> ills <strong>of</strong> man, manifested through <strong>the</strong>se<br />

seven centers. By symbolically standing on <strong>the</strong>m, we, in fact, control <strong>the</strong><br />

potent and negative energies that <strong>the</strong>y can introduce. On <strong>the</strong> Altar table<br />

<strong>the</strong>re are <strong>the</strong> four images <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Calf, Man, Lion, and Eagle, which represent<br />

<strong>the</strong> four lower centers. Because <strong>the</strong>y are still on <strong>the</strong> floor, yet raised<br />

above it, <strong>the</strong>y arc <strong>the</strong> lower natures <strong>of</strong> man which have been exalted so<br />

that a form <strong>of</strong> realignment or changing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir vibrational pitch occurs,<br />

which brings <strong>the</strong>m into higher contact with our Higher Nature. Each <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>se four centers relates to an element and to <strong>the</strong> elemental grades <strong>the</strong><br />

Adept has gone through, which in <strong>the</strong>ory have also stimulated each <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>se four centers. The Altar itself represents what could be called <strong>the</strong><br />

"Eight center" and is associated to <strong>the</strong> spleen, <strong>the</strong> energy vortex from<br />

which <strong>the</strong> energy flows, so that it can be transmitted to <strong>the</strong> seven centers<br />

on <strong>the</strong> back. The "Eight center," as <strong>the</strong> Altar, is <strong>the</strong> control point for this<br />

energy. The 49 petals <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Rose and Cross at <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> pastos<br />

(normally placed below <strong>the</strong> Altar) relate to <strong>the</strong> 49 minor centers that are<br />

under control through <strong>the</strong> four major lower centers as portrayed on <strong>the</strong><br />

Altar. On <strong>the</strong> ceiling <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Vault we have <strong>the</strong> seven centers at <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

highest point and on <strong>the</strong> floor <strong>the</strong> seven centers at <strong>the</strong>ir lowest, with man<br />

standing in <strong>the</strong> middle trying to aspire to <strong>the</strong> highest through <strong>the</strong> influences<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Seven Rays-<strong>the</strong> vault walls.<br />

Each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se chakras, save <strong>the</strong> spleen, manifests in <strong>the</strong> four auric<br />

bodies. In <strong>the</strong> Physical Body we have <strong>the</strong> seven major gland areas that act
