This publication is fifth in series of its kind and an attempt towards creating a
reliable data base for planning and corrective action for apprenticeship training under the
Apprentices Act. This publication presents statistics on establishments engaged in
apprenticeship training, intake capacity, output and their employability in the Labour
Market alongwith a brief analysis of the present scenario. I hope that this publication will
be helpful not only to the planners but also to the Employers, Employees and those who are
aspiring for jobs.
The data presented in this publication relates to Trade Apprentices which have been
collected through the State Apprenticeship Advisors (SAAs) and Regional Directors of
Apprenticeship Training (RDATs).
I place on record my appreciation of the work done by Shri R.K. Mathur, Dy.
Director and his team of officers and staff in the Survey and Study Division under the
