Strengths and Unique Selling Points:
The Sunset Coast region stretches from just north of Fremantle to just past
Lancelin and includes the towns of Guilderton and Yanchep as well as the majority
of Perth’s northern suburbs.
Within the metropolitan area, the region is most known for its unspoilt beaches
including City Beach, Cottesloe, Scarborough, Sorrento and Hillarys. The
lack of development along this stretch of metropolitan coastline is seen by both
locals and visitors alike as a key strength.

Outside the metropolitan area, a series of townships along the coast are popular
with Western Australian residents and provide the base for marine activities such
as surfing, fishing and boating. The township of Lancelin at the north end of
the region also provides activities such as sandboarding, windsurfing and four
wheel driving.

sand dunes and is world renowned for its surfing beaches. It
has a wonderful climate and it is close to a number of tourism
destinations within an hour-and-a-bit drive.”

The Yanchep National Park is well known for its numerous walk trails,
underground caves, native animal enclosures, lakeside picnicking and dining
options. This northern part of the region is also home to a range of fresh produce
including olives, wine and honey, as well as the Gravity Discovery Centre, a
science-based attraction near Gingin.
However, the core appeal of the region comes from its spectacular coastline with
the opportunity to watch the sun setting over the Indian Ocean, seen to be a
unique experience for many interstate and international visitors.
