Silflex II: In Vitro
Functional Testing
MCP and PIP implants are manufactured from Silflex II,
an extensively tested, high performance, medical grade
silicone elastomer. During in vitro functional testing,
the implants were subjected to over 20 million cycles
of flexing with no visible evidence of crack formation
or deterioration of hinge integrity.
The test data indicates that Silflex II exhibits improved
physical properties when compared to traditionally
available materials. While in vitro testing cannot duplicate
in vivo conditions, the studies show that the
improved physical properties of Silflex II may result in
enhanced prosthetic durability.
High-Performance
Silicone Elastomer
The TRL implant is manufactured from a high-performance,
medical grade silicone elastomer designed for the specific
articular requirements and complex kinematics of the
trapeziometacarpal joint.
