Junior Viking & Mini Volleyball
The Stoughton Recreation Department is teaming up with Stoughton
Girls Volleyball Coach Kelly Sorensen to offer volleyball instruction for
girls in grades 2-8. Participants will learn proper fundamentals and techniques
of volleyball. There is a major emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork
and having fun! No equipment is necessary besides gym clothes
and shoes (may wear kneepads). This is a great introductory program
for volleyball, as well as a way to improve current skill levels. These
classes will be held on Sunday afternoons in February and March. Check
our website, www.cityofstoughton.com/rec for more information.
Learn to Skate
Active Start, FUNdamentals
Coaches from the Stoughton Youth Hockey
Association will be helping children learn to
skate in our skating lesson program again. The
skating lessons are open to students’ ages 4
years and above and all skill levels. The classes
will be broken down into groups by skill level
once they “hit” the ice. The emphasis on this
program is having fun while learning to skate.
A limited amount of daily skate rentals are available
at the Mandt Community Center (873-7528)
and long-term rentals are available through Middleton Sports & Fitness
(836-3931). Sign up for the first two sessions and save $15!
Fall Miniball Soccer
Start your little Messi on his or her
way to a lifelong love of recreation activities.
Nothing compares to soccer for an
The emphasis on this program is having
fun, getting your child to like sports, and
developing their physical literacy. This
program isn’t intended on teaching high
level soccer skills to your child because of
the ages of the participants. Volunteer coaches needed and are refunded
registration fees!
