Disassembly (Fig. 1)<br />

1. Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting deck,<br />

stop engine, engage parking brake and remove key<br />

from the ignition switch.<br />

2. Disassemble steering tower as needed using Figure<br />

1 as a guide.<br />

1. Assemble steering tower using Figure 1 as a guide.<br />

A. Thrust washer(s) (item 24) on steering column<br />

are used as needed to remove end play of steering<br />

shaft.<br />

B. If steering wheel was removed, torque hex nut<br />

(item 1) from 16 to 20 ft lb (22 to 27 N -m).<br />
