Engine cranks, but does not start.<br />

Possible Causes<br />

Ignition switch is faulty.<br />

Engine is malfunctioning (see Chapter 3 – Kubota<br />

Diesel Engine).<br />

Fuel system is malfunctioning (see Chapter 3 – Kubota<br />

Diesel Engine).<br />

Engine may be too cold.<br />

Engine cranks (but should not) with the traction pedal<br />

out of the neutral position.<br />

Neutral switch is out of adjustment or faulty.<br />

Neutral switch wiring is faulty (see Chapter 8 –<br />

Electrical Diagrams).<br />

Battery does not charge.<br />

Possible Causes<br />

Wiring to the charging circuit components is loose,<br />

corroded, or damaged (see Chapter 8 – Electrical<br />

Engine kills during operation.<br />

Alternator belt is slipping or damaged.<br />

Alternator is faulty.<br />

Battery is dead.<br />

Ignition switch is faulty.<br />

Engine is malfunctioning (see Chapter 3 – Kubota<br />

Diesel Engine).<br />
