At the Y, you are part of a family, a community, and an organization that has served the Greater Rochester area for more than 150 years. The Y is a diverse organization of men, women, and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. One of our most enriching youth development programs is summer camp, and as members, you have a unique opportunity to sample many different Y camping programs. While fun and skill development are at the heart of all of our camp programs, our campers also learn important values like caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, which are woven within activities every day at summer camp. So, join us for a premiere day camp experience right here at Camp Bay View or experience an overnight camping adventure at YMCA Camp Gorham in the Adirondacks or at YMCA Camp Cory on Keuka Lake. We are so excited to “Cut the Ribbon” on our stateof-the-art climbing campus that has risen from the ashes of our climbing castle. The campus is 100 percent wheelchair accessible (we have also made a great portion of camp accessible) and the boulder playground even features sensory friendly surfaces for children on the Autism spectrum. The Dual Zip Lines and the technology they employ are the first of their kind at any Y camp in North America! You will also still find a three sided rock wall that exceeds thirty feet and can accommodate 5 climbers at a time. Watch for upcoming programs and member time to enjoy the climbing campus. The Y is a cause for strengthening communities, and we rely on the support of our generous volunteers to help us deliver the benefits of good health, strong connections, greater selfconfidence, and a sense of security to all who seek it. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about enduring change right in your own neighborhood. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. SilverSneakers ® Cardio Circuit Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. Fees: YMCA Member Benefit SILVER&FIT DANCE POWERED BY ZUMBA ® GOLD Silver&Fit Dance is a fun-filled, safe, and easy to follow Latin dance program created for the active older adult and appropriate for all fitness levels. Rhythms like the Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Belly Dance, Cumbia, Flamenco, Tango, and Rock and Roll are simplified and broken down to emphasize the basics while creating a total body workout that is motivational, inspiring and fun. “Ditch the workout and join the party!” Fees: YMCA Member Benefit GENTLE YOGA (OLDER ADULTS) Increase your range of motion and promote flexibility while moving slowly through a sequence of poses. Gentle yoga is perfect for newcomers and experienced yoga participants. This class utilizes a chair for seated and standing support.
