Jump in deep water 2. Swim 25 yards pr<strong>of</strong>iciently, half on front, half on back 3. Tread water for 2 minutes with head out <strong>of</strong> water • Dive only in 9 feet <strong>of</strong> water or deeper. • Starting blocks are for instructional use only. • Pollution <strong>of</strong> swimming pools is prohibited. Urinating, discharge <strong>of</strong> fecal matter, expectoration, or blowing <strong>of</strong> nose in the pool is prohibited. • Children wearing diapers must wear swim diapers. No diaper changing on deck. • Must be 13 years or older and have passed the deep end test to participate in lap swim. • The lifeguard is responsible for the safety <strong>of</strong> all swimmers. They have the right to modify the rules as necessary. DEEP END SWIMMERS • Children 6-7 years old must have an adult member (18 years or older) ON THE POOL DECK at all times. • Children 8-12 years old must have an adult in the building. SHALLOW END SWIMMERS • Children 5 years old and under must have an adult member (18 years or older) IN THE POOL with them at all times. Only two children per adult. Parents are required to be in the water and within an arm’s reach <strong>of</strong> any child 5 and under. • Non-swimmers who are not tall enough to stand in the shallow water at arm pit depth must wear a lifejacket if unsupervised. We encourage parents to be in the water with all non-swimmers. SLIDE • To use the slide you must have passed the deep end test. BAY VIEW • 29
