Authors<br />

Malin Bäckman, BA, is studying in the Creative Sustainability Master’s<br />

degree programme at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture.<br />

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design from the<br />

University of Lapland. During her Bachelor programme she also studied<br />

in Saint-Etienne, France. Her interests lie within participatory design<br />

approaches and design <strong>for</strong> social sustainability. She is interested in how<br />

to design with people in a local context, focusing on grass-roots initiatives<br />

and on how design can create possibilities <strong>for</strong> new <strong>for</strong>ms of collaboration.<br />

Sebastian Greger, MA, is a social interaction designer and design strategist.<br />

His background in sociology (M.Soc.Sc., University of Tampere) and digital<br />

design (MA, Media Lab Helsinki at Aalto University) is complemented by<br />

several years experience in the design and marketing industry, where he<br />

has been working with digital service concepts. Researching the application<br />

of technology to complement human interaction in meaningful ways, he<br />

is looking <strong>for</strong> new methods to design technology that truly enriches social<br />

life rather than just digitising it.<br />

Zagros Hatami, MA, is a Doctor of Arts candidate at Aalto University<br />

School of Arts, Design and Architecture. With a background in Electrical<br />

Engineering (B.A.Sc., University of Waterloo, Canada) and Industrial<br />

Design (MA, Aalto University), his research interests lie in the application<br />

of design strategies to facilitate users’ value creation processes as well as<br />

user engagement and support in co-production of services.<br />

Janos Honkonen has studied language technology in the University of<br />

Helsinki. In 2012 he worked in Aalto University as a media co-ordinator<br />

<strong>for</strong> 365 Wellbeing project.<br />
