Space Change Behaviour
Smoking is a complex issue that involves both physical
and psychological aspects of a person. This makes
it impossible to impose on smokers a reason to quit.
Instead of telling smokers what to do, this concept uses
the existing environment to change their behaviour,
making non-smokers take action and reclaim their
public space. The approach is to have objects with calm
and soothing semantic messages that attract different
non-smoking groups to reclaim their environment. As
yarn bombing is widely used to indicate concern within
a public space, it is also suitable to be used to attract
children, families and the elderly to these reclaimed
spaces.
