Sunnycrest Park Golf Clubhouse – At Caleb Street Park Entrance
The Sunnycrest Park Association and Syracuse Parks and Recreation maintain and
groom 2.5 miles of cross country ski trails at Sunnycrest Park. Terrain is rolling with
uphill and downhill sections. The Golf Clubhouse provides an indoor heated facility with
bathrooms available.
SUNDAYS 1:30 – 3:00 PM / TUESDAY Ski Club 6pm – 7pm
Special times and dates can be arranged for youth community groups, school classes,
and church youth groups. Please pre-register for groups larger than 6 people.
INSTRUCTION: Experienced cross-country skiers will provide instruction for beginner and intermediate
cross-country skiing. Includes flat, uphill and downhill techniques.
EQUIPMENT: Ski equipment is available free of charge to youth high school and younger. Adult rentals
are $5.

Please dress in layers that can be added or taken off based on temperature and activity.
Activity will be strenuous at times.
Ski Instruction is free. Groups need to register at least 2 days in advance.

AMATURE ATHLETIC WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Learn to Cross Country Ski
Athletic/Sports Program(s), related events and activities, including but not limited to programs at
Sunnycrest Park, and off site, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that, Cross
Country Skiing is an active, physical sport and as such, injuries/accidents may occur to the participants.
* The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including but not limited to the potential
for permanent paralysis and death, while particular rules, equipment, and personal disciple may reduce this risk, the
risk of serious injury does exist; and
* I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown and assume full
responsibility for my participation; and
* I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I
observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation
and bring such hazard to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and
* I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next if kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND
HOLD HARMLESS THE CITY OF SYRACUSE, SYRACUSE PARKS, RECREATION & YOUTH PROGRAMS,
SUNNYCREST PARK ASSOCIATION, THE LEARN TO CROSS COUNTRY SKI PROGRAM, the Director and Instructors,
its Members, Managers, Officers, Officials, Agents and/or Employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors,
advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event, including, but not limited to
Sunnycrest Park, in transit to or from said park, or at any other premises to which I may be transported, in connection with
the Learn to Cross Country Ski Program, and all of their successors and assigns, ("Releasees"), WITH RESPECT TO ANY
AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT AND FULLY UNDERSTAND
ITS TERMS. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING THIS FORM
AND HEREBY SIGN IT FREELY, VOLUNTARILY AND WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

This is to certify that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this/these participants do consent and agree to
his/her/their release as provided above all Releasees, and, for myself, my heirs, assigns, and next of kin, I release and
agree to indemnify the Releasees from any and all liabilities, incident to my minor child's/children involvement or
participation in these programs as provided above.
