DEPARTMENT OF WATER<br />

DIVISION OF ENGINEERING<br />

I. Program Responsibilities:<br />

The Engineering Division is responsible for overall planning, administration and management <strong>of</strong> the water works system.<br />

This division performs all <strong>of</strong> the engineering work in connection with the distribution, maintenance, operation and<br />

sanitary protection <strong>of</strong> the water supply, plans for the construction <strong>of</strong> new and/or modification <strong>of</strong> water system facilities;<br />

prepares and administers contracts for work done by contractors; and prepares specifications for materials purchased<br />

for new construction, as well as all materials, equipment and supplies for the operation <strong>of</strong> the water system.<br />
