ACCESS XC 09
The Access XC is the perfect kite for buggy and landboard use for
intermediates and pros alike, with its forgiving flying characteristics
and rigid stability its the perfect kite for confidence building and gusty
conditions. Everyone has a place in their quiver for at least one access!
With a safety system second to none, its easy to see why land users have
embraced it with such passion and made it one of the most popular and
successful depower foils of all time. In addition, the Access XC doubles as
a beginner’s snowkite for back country exploration and your own personal
ski lift. There is a new bar 54cm for all sizes, a brand new backpack design
and awesome colours for ‘09. The Access XC, low aspect kite, is our most
successful design to date due to its safe nature that schools, beginners,
explorers and rippers will all enjoy!

FRENZY FYX
The Frenzy fyx is the next step for freestylers and freeriders alike. Since
it’s release in ‘03 its been the originator and bench mark that other
company’s have tried to copy time and time again.
This year the kite has not just be reworked, it’s been reinvented. This mid-aspect kite
is pure grunt from low to high end, insane pop and loop abilty makes it the number
one choice for landboarders and freestyle buggiers alike. Robbie has created the
FYX based on the design of the Legendary Manta II. The FYX shares the same
technically advanced Ozone “Speed System” with a double pulley on each side that
allows the angle of attack (Depower) to be changed minutely which results in the
smoothest progression from full power to full Depower. The Double Pulley speed
system is designed to work in harmony with the bridle plan, sail tension and profile.
The balance of the design is what makes the mid-aspect FYX such a solid performer
with unbeatable stability, turning speed, low end power and impressive Depower.
The all new Control system for the FYX & Manta II ensure the rider the most effective,
hassle free, release and re-load safety system in the industry.

MANTA II 09
The Manta II, high aspect kite, now in its 3rd year is the kite that dreams
are made of. This is for serious flyers who wish to push the boundaries to
the max, despite it’s easy flying characteristics this machine feeds on
whatever you throw at it.
The more input you give it, the more it rewards you. Float is the kites forte, with insane
hang time for both land boarders and kite freestylers alike. This kite will take you
where ever your passion desires. In 2008 the Manta II became known as the ultimate
kite for those in the know. Its solid performance and incredibly tight turning radius
make climbing mountains easier and more importantly, safer. For the ’09 Season the
Manta II has been updated with an improved trim giving higher performance. It also
comes with our new “Patent Pending” Control System and in our new colours.
Robbie’s words: “The Manta II I am happy to say is a lighter, faster handling kite
with dynamic pop with ridiculous hang time and amazing de-power. The two pulley
speed system reduces bar pressure tremendously and allows the kite to fly faster
while retaining stability throughout the wind range. In light wind you have to work the
kite to gain speed but once you feel it power up it just keeps pulling progressively. In

with his years of varied experience. Robbie Whittall
(2x world champion, Hang gliding and Paragliding,
designer, test pilot and trimmer) has been designing the
snowkites and landkites you love so much for the past
9 years. This type of experience is the foundation of
our ability to create industry leading designs with 20+
years in the wind-sports industry. We know you have a
choice of kites and that’s why we have to shine. There
is an Ozone difference that you can tell as soon as you
fly one. The Ozone team are also accomplished athletes
whom have a more holistic view of the creation process.

Expanding the Horizons
of Landkiting
Landboarders get a continuous rush from their first lesson right through to the endless hours
of racing across the grass, sand or snow on their mountainboard, buggy, or skis/boards and
powersliding to a stylish stop in front of a crowd or mother nature.
There is nothing more exhilarating than harnessing the
wind and using your kite to pull you from a standstill to
up to 40mph in the blink of an eye; that’s power. It’s
the speed and acceleration that have hooked so many
people but its the tricks that keep them coming back
for more. With more experience you’ll be able to launch
yourself into jumps which feel (and often look) as if you’re
floating through the air in slow motion. Combining
this with spins, inverts, board-offs and even powered
kitesurfing moves landboarders always draw a crowd.
Add the experience of our designer, Robbie Whittall,
who is responsible for some of the finest foil kites on the
planet since 2001. A lineage that includes the legendary
“Little Devil”, “Yakuza”, “Samurai 1”, “Frenzy”, “Access”
and the “Manta”, and now Ozone’s new ‘09 “Instinct
Series.” However, it all started with Landkites for Rob
whose fascination with foil design has progressed to
even more stable kites that are more fun to fly. Even the
new Yakuza GT, although packed with award wining
power is one that anybody with kite skills can enjoy.

In a World where Nature rarely provides perfect
conditions the FLOW guarantees there is one
kite you can always rely on.
The FLOW with 4-line handles is the most popular
choice for buggying and recreational flying, also finding
favour with some board riders. The kite responds well
to straightforward front line steerage while experts
will appreciate the full range of control available when
dynamic braking skills are used.
The FLOW with bar is recommended for land boarding
and snow kiting. It can just as easily be used for
recreational power kiting where the aim is to become
an expert bar flyer before committing to kitesurfing or
snowkiting. Although accessible to novices, particularly
in the smaller 2 and 3m sizes, the flow is a unique kite
that is more than capable of meeting the demands and
capturing the imagination of any seasoned kiter.
The Yakuza is designed for the kiter looking for absolute performance. The original
Yakuza and now the Yakuza GT have been developed by the most diverse and
technically minded team within the kiting industry. Ozone has worked closely with
highly successful buggy racers including World Champions and National Champions
to perfect what has become the benchmark in race kite technology. The design
process on a high aspect kite like the Yakuza GT is very involved. A race kite needs
to perform in a wide variety of conditions, upwind, downwind or any direction you
choose and be able to go as fast as possible whilst maintaining stability and low-end
pull. If you want to be the fastest or feel the need to have the most powerful kite
possible in your quiver then the Yakuza GT is the kite for you.
