2-2. b, DESCRIPTION OF MASK (CONT). Nosecup Assembly. l Nosecup (1) is a soft rubber cup which fits firmly over your nose and mouth. It contains two one-way valves and houses the microphone. l Nosecup valve seats and disks(2) are one-way valves which allow clean air to enter the nosecup for normal breathing but prevent moist exhaled air from contacting and fogging the lens in cold weather. l Microphone (3) fits into pocket in the nosecup to transmit your voice through the aircraft or tank communication system. 2-4
