2-12. MARKING YOUR MASK FOR IDENTIFICATION. NOTE Although a mask will be used only by the individual to whom it is issued and fitted, do not make permanent identification markings on either the facepiece or carrier (AR 700-84). a. Under supervision of your unit NBC NCO, attach a removable tape or tag marked with your name or a code number to your mask carrier. b. The code number, if required, may include date the facepiece was fitted and tested. Code number must not Identify parent organization or be similiar to a neighboring unit. 2-78
2-13. PUTTING ON YOUR FACEPIECE, WITH HOOD ATTACHED, IN TRAINING OR COMBAT. TM 3-4240-280-10 WARNING Stop breathing when putting on your facepkce. Toxic agents maybe in the surrounding air. Perform the steps for putting on facepiece quickly. You must put the facepkce on before you take another breath. CAUTION Care must be taken not to scratch the clear plastic lens when handling the facepiece. NOTE If you are putthg on the facepiece without the hood, ignore the procedures relating to the hood. If the hood is attached to your facepiece, let it hang inside out on the front of the facepiace while putting on facepiece. 2-79
