Don’t become the next cave diving accident statistic!<br />
Stay well within your training and experience level.<br />
■ <strong>Diving</strong> in overhead environments, such as caverns and caves, is an extremely<br />
hazardous activity. Every site on this map has been the scene of multiple diver<br />
fatalities. Ninety percent of these fatalities involve divers with no formal training<br />
in cavern or cave diving.<br />
■ There are only four sites on this map—Ginnie Spring, Devil’s Den, Blue Grotto<br />
and Paradise Spring—where experts consider it acceptable for divers who<br />
lack formal <strong>Cave</strong>rn or <strong>Cave</strong> <strong>Dive</strong>r training to enter the water with dive lights and<br />
explore underwater caverns. Even at these sites, it is important divers keep the<br />
cavern entrance clearly in view at all times.<br />
■ At any site other than these four, divers who lack <strong>Cave</strong>rn or <strong>Cave</strong> <strong>Dive</strong>r certification<br />
should not enter the water with dive lights. Doing so will help prevent<br />
them from accidentally going where they may not be able to find their way out.<br />
Several sites rigidly enforce a No Lights rule to help keep divers safe.<br />
