Subject aims and description<br />
The aim <strong>of</strong> the subject is to explore some <strong>of</strong> those influences<br />
which have shaped the development <strong>of</strong> ltaly into a modern<br />
industrial nation.<br />
The course is designed:<br />
(a) To give students an appreciation <strong>of</strong> the ltalian way <strong>of</strong> life<br />
and an understanding <strong>of</strong> the people <strong>of</strong> ltaly today.<br />
(b) To develop in the students an understanding <strong>of</strong><br />
E! contemporary Italy by introducing them to recent<br />
