Application procedure<br />

Prospective students should complete the Engineering and<br />

Industrial Science application form for part-time study<br />

Information sessions covering all aspects <strong>of</strong> the course will<br />

be conducted twice a year prior to enrolment days.<br />

Course Aims<br />

The course aims to provide formal education for persons<br />

g working or intending to work in areas related to the<br />

Forensic Science Industry. On completion <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Certificate IV the student may have pathways into the<br />

Entry Requirements<br />

Participants should be able to demonstrate the following<br />

competencies on entry to the course or complete<br />

appropriate modules from the bridging program<br />

concurrent with the first semester <strong>of</strong> study.<br />

read, write, and discuss familiar information in English. -<br />

mathematical skills: solve straight forward vocational<br />

mathematical problems usinc fractions, decimals,<br />

ratios, proportions, %, areas, volumes, simple algebraic<br />

equations, and straight line graphs. (i.e. learning or<br />

experience equivalent to the outcomes <strong>of</strong> the<br />

ACTRAC SCITECH module, AAA640 - Introductory<br />

Mathematics.)<br />

All students must attend an interview.<br />

Application procedure<br />

Prospective students (Exit VCE and mature-age) wanting to<br />

apply for full-time places in the February intake <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Associate Diploma course must contact the Victorian<br />

Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) for a VTAC Guide<br />

and application form. Students wanting to apply for places<br />

in the mid-year intake should contact the School <strong>of</strong><br />

Engineering and Industrial Science.<br />

Articulations & credit transfer pathways<br />

Direct Articulation into the 2nd year <strong>of</strong> the diploma <strong>of</strong><br />

Forensic Science is available to students employed in the<br />

Crime Scene or Finger Printing branch <strong>of</strong> Forensic Science.<br />
