Precision measuring techniques and application <strong>of</strong><br />

principles <strong>of</strong> measurement. Length metrology (standards<br />

alignment telescope, surface texture, roundness, squareness<br />

and parallelism, co- ordinate measurement.<br />

Introduces the concepts and techniques <strong>of</strong> reliability and<br />

looks at the application <strong>of</strong> basic reliability analysis<br />

techniques to technical, administration and managerial<br />

8. timing in application <strong>of</strong> reliability methods and the<br />

Content<br />

Provides a general appreciation <strong>of</strong> the legal responsibilities<br />

associated with quality control and methods adopted to<br />

meet these responsibilities. Current legislation, protection<br />

procedures, Australian design rules and standards, recall<br />

process, documentation systems.<br />

audit, calibration system requirements, quality control<br />

requirements, customer/supplier agreement <strong>of</strong> quality<br />

control assessment, IS09000 series, quality control system<br />

and product audits.<br />

TF467 Human Factors<br />

Content<br />

A study <strong>of</strong> the relationship between human factors and<br />

quality control. Ergonomics, motivation programs, job<br />

Objectives and content<br />

This subject, which is compulsory at VCE level, aims to<br />

enable all students to develop their critical understanding<br />

and control <strong>of</strong> the English language so that they can use it<br />

in a wide range <strong>of</strong> situations, ranging from personal and<br />

informal to more public occasions, and to develop a level<br />

<strong>of</strong> competence adequate for the demands <strong>of</strong> post-school<br />

Objectives and content<br />

Unit 3: Making and changing the law is about the<br />

institutions and processes which determine laws in<br />

Australia and the process by which laws are changed. In<br />

particular, it examines the roles <strong>of</strong> parliament and the<br />

courts as law-making bodies. Unit 4: Dispute settlement<br />

and the attainment <strong>of</strong> justice focuses on the dispute-settling<br />

institutions, processes and procedures which operate<br />

within the legal system and an evaluation <strong>of</strong> the legal<br />

system as a whole. The evaluation includes consideration <strong>of</strong><br />

the strengths and weaknesses <strong>of</strong> the legal system, and areas<br />

possibly in need <strong>of</strong> change and reform.<br />
