Objectives and content<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> this subject is to introduce the structure<br />
and scope <strong>of</strong> individual work practices within the graphic<br />
arts industry and to investigate the range <strong>of</strong> work<br />
relationships which exist between the artist and client, the<br />
material supplier, the trade house, the freelancer, work<br />
colleagues and associates. It will also provide students with<br />
an opportunity to discuss with a recognised practitioner<br />
specialist skills and knowledge.<br />

Content<br />
Topics include designing and constructing spreadsheets,<br />
editing and manipulating data in existing spreadsheets,<br />
formatting and printing spreadsheets, graphics to represent<br />

Topics include terminology with electronic databases,<br />
accessing and manipulating data from a datafile, creating<br />
database maintaining databases, reports from databases.<br />

Topics include fractions and decimals, ratios proportions<br />
and percentages, mensuration in two and three dimensions,<br />
linear algebraic equations, polynomials, Cartesian plane<br />
graphs geometry <strong>of</strong> triangle/quadrilateral and definition <strong>of</strong><br />
sin, cos and tan.<br />

Topics include, stats, bivariate data, indices, linear and<br />

A subject in the Certificate I in Electrical (Pre-<br />
Apprenticeship), Certificate in Engineering (Basic) and the<br />

Content<br />
This module is intended to develop students' mathematical<br />
skills so that they can confidently and accurately perform<br />
the calculations required in their workplace and in their<br />
everyday life. It also is the foundation for later study in<br />
trade and technical qualifications if the student wishes to<br />
pursue further studies in engineering.
