requirement is that applicants must be Aboriginal<br />

<strong>and</strong> Torres Strait Isl<strong>and</strong>er people. Applicants may<br />

be asked to participate in a day of special<br />

workshops, or participate in an interview. Phone<br />

interviews may be possible for country <strong>and</strong><br />

interstate applicants.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> overview<br />

This course is designed to give students the<br />

necessary skills to organise a performance, event<br />

or project <strong>and</strong> undertake the administrative tasks<br />

associated with such a performance. The focus of<br />

the course is to provide participants with<br />

opportunities to stimulate industry practice by<br />

conceiving, developing, planning, activating,<br />

rehearsing <strong>and</strong> staging an event or performance.<br />

The course trains in key areas of fine arts:<br />

themselves as self-employed fine artists.<br />

including: community art, set production, site<br />

This course prepares students for work in areas of<br />

drafting, lettering, photography, corporate<br />

graphics.<br />

participants not only in a range of performance<br />

skills but also acquire a range of skills necessary<br />

to mount <strong>and</strong> manage a project or an event. The<br />

course aims to facilitate the provision of<br />

Indigenous guest speakers with a wide range of<br />

industry experience. It also offers the opportunity<br />

to attend a wide range of professional theatre.<br />

Career opportunities<br />

Arts administrators, corporate entertainers, theatre<br />

technicians, actors, puppeteers <strong>and</strong> acrobats.<br />

Successful completion of this course may also<br />

allow Pathways to further study specialising in<br />

theatre crafts, design <strong>and</strong> acting.<br />
