Certificate I, II & III in Spoken <strong>and</strong> Written English<br />

Duration<br />

One semester (15-20 hours per week) each level,<br />

or one year part-time.<br />

Entry requirements<br />

English is not the first language. Permanent<br />

residency (passport required) or if not permanent<br />

may be eligible for the Adult Migrant English<br />

Program (510 hours). English level: beginners to<br />

pre-intermediate.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> overview<br />

This course focuses on general language<br />

development, oral <strong>and</strong> written skills related to a<br />

range of contexts at beginner level. It also focuses<br />

on settlement issues.<br />

English for Vocational Education <strong>and</strong> Further<br />

One semester (eighteen weeks) full-time or one<br />

varies at each campus).<br />

Entry requirement<br />

ASLPR (2, 2+). English is not the first language.<br />

Permanent residency. Student, tourist, working<br />

holiday visas not eligible). Eligible non-permanent<br />

residents will be charged a higher fee.<br />

This course prepares people from non-English<br />

speaking backgrounds, with intermediate to high<br />

intermediate levels of English with a means to<br />

progress to further study (mainstream) or work.<br />
