Course overview
This is a humanities and social science oriented
course which aims to prepare students for further
studies in this area. Major studies include: Inquiry

Entry requirements
The program aims to attract students from a
variety of backgrounds. In particular the course is
geared to cater for mature-age persons who were
unsuccessful in gaining entry into a program
offered by a university, or who do not have Year
12 or its equivalent.

Course overview
This course is a special bridging program
specifically aimed to prepare students for
subsequent entry into Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor
of Business degree programs. Core units are as
follows: research skills, analysis and argument,
using information technology. Electives may
include: Australian Politics, Screenwriting, Writing
for Public Release, Behaviour in Organisations,
Issues in Multicultural Australia, Psychological
Inquiry.

Applicants must complete a Supplementary
Application form and attach a sample of their
writing. Some applicants may be interviewed.
Course overview
This course provides a structured and disciplined
environment for would-be writers, interaction with
like-minded students and an understanding of the
opportunities for publishing work, having it
performed or working within the writing industry.
It provides participants with a theoretical base and
practical skills in technical business and/or
creative writing, to pursue either para professional
level employment or further study. Major studies
include: business strategies of freelancing,
working to a brief, manuscript presentation and
applications of technology.
Career opportunities
Graduates may pursue careers in journalism.
Successful completion of the Diploma may also
allow articulation into the Bachelor of Arts
(Communication) at Monash University.
