Course overview
This course is offered in conjunction with General
Flying Services at Moorabbin Airport. The overall
objective of the course is to prepare students for
professional careers in the aviation industry as
aeroplane pilots. Whilst there is a strong
engineering base, the technical risks associated
with flying have diminished, and the areas of
more concern are related to human failings. In
addition, pilots should be industry-aware,
recognising the needs of both the organisation
and the customer. In both courses, only fifty per
cent of academic subjects are technical.
Career opportunities
Pilot. Successful completion of the course may
also allow Pathways to one of Swinburne’s degree
programs.
Professional recognition
QANTAS have recognised the combination of
Swinburne and General Flying Services as one of
their preferred sources of new pilots.
