This course aims to prepare students for<br />

Bachelor of Technology Aviation application form<br />

available from <strong>Swinburne</strong>.<br />

Admission to the course is based on both the<br />

ENTER <strong>and</strong> the outcome of an interview held in<br />

mid December. Civil Aviation Safety Authority<br />

medical requirements <strong>and</strong> flying fees apply.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> overview<br />

This course provides both the educational <strong>and</strong><br />

practical training requirements for a career as a<br />

professional pilot within the air transportation<br />

industry. Flying training to Commercial Pilot<br />

Licence <strong>and</strong> theory to Air Transport Pilot Licence is<br />

integrated into the course. Specifically designed<br />

studies in aviation encompassing the<br />

management, human factors <strong>and</strong> engineering<br />

areas are incorporated. Business studies are<br />

undertaken with core subjects, a management<br />

major <strong>and</strong> a choice of minor subjects.<br />

Aviation Human Factors, Aviation Management<br />

<strong>and</strong> Air Transportation Facilities Management,<br />

Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures, Avionics,<br />

Aircraft Propulsion, Aircraft Design, Flying Training<br />

<strong>and</strong> its associated theory (approximately two days<br />

per week). Some students may need to devote<br />

additional time to the flying segment of the<br />

course. In addition students undertake studies in<br />

business discipline.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> overview<br />

This double degree course allows students to<br />

undertake the Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology)<br />

course combined with <strong>Swinburne</strong>’s accredited<br />

three year Bachelor of Business degree. The aim<br />

of this combination is to provide graduates with<br />

scientific skills together with skills in business,<br />

management, innovation <strong>and</strong> entrepreneurship.<br />

management, economics, information systems,<br />

organisations <strong>and</strong> management, biology, genetics,<br />

chemistry, general biochemical processes, protein<br />
