The first two years of the course are common to each of the degree/honours streams, but in the final degree year areas of investigation include, production technology, design management, publication design, multimedia design, typography, communication design, image making, packaging, visual identity and digital production. The short course runs Tuesday 27 June to Friday 30 June and Tuesday 19 September to Friday 22 September 2000, 10am to 4pm at the National School of Design, Prahran Campus. The introductory courses consist of a series of lectures and workshops introducing each of the disciplines offered in National School of Design. It allows secondary students the opportunity to explore the areas that might otherwise not be considered as a possible career option. Swinburne staff and senior students will be available for advice on preselection and the selection process into the School. This is an excellent course for current VCE students to build a folio for entrance to further study, and get a taste of tertiary life.
