ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS SCHOLARSHIP Memorial University Entrance Scholarships (unlimited number) VALUE $1,000 85%-89.9% $2,000 90% + ELIGIBILITY High school applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents are automatically considered on final admissions average. Does not require a scholarship application. Memorial University Entrance Scholarships (limited number) $3,000 High school applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents from outside the province of NL who present the highest midterm admissions average and who apply to Memorial by the March 1 deadline. Does not require a scholarship application. The William & Naomi Lundrigan Scholarships $1,000 (2) Student must spend at least one semester at Grenfell Campus. Will be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, however, character, economic need, and any other relevant factors may be considered. This scholarship requires an application - check with your guidance counsellor for details. 49 The City of Corner Brook JR Smallwood Scholarship $1,000 Student must be a resident of the City of Corner Brook, in the final year of high school, and entering Grenfell Campus. Will be awarded based on outstanding academic merit and demonstration of active participation in school and community life. This scholarship requires an application - check with your guidance counsellor for details. The Sisters of Mercy Anniversary Scholarship $1,500-$2,000 (varies from year to year) Student must be from western/northern NL entering Grenfell Campus with full-time status. Will be awarded based on academic standing and promise. Consideration may be given to candidates financial circumstances. This scholarship requires an application - check with your guidance counsellor for details. Warren and Catherine Ball Memorial Entrance Scholarship (limited number) $30,000 ($7,500 x 4 years) NL high school applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents are automatically considered based on midterm results obtained from the high school. Does not require a scholarship application. The Poole Family Scholarship The Visual Arts Entrance Scholarship $5,000 $500 Awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate. To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate financial need and scholarship standing. Preference will be given to candidates who graduated from high school in western Newfoundland. Recipients may attend any of Memorial University of Newfoundland’s campuses. The scholarship is renewable for up to three years as long as candidates maintain scholarship standing. Awarded annually to a student commencing first-year studeies in the visual arts program (BFA) at Grenfell Campus. The award is made on the basis of previous academic performance and the quality of the portfolio submission. Entrance Scholarships for International Students: International students are automatically considered for non-renewable entrance scholarships on an individual basis. Applications are not required.
