To enrol in the nursing program at Western Regional
School of Nursing you must have completed high
school chemistry and biology in addition to meeting
the general university requirements. Enrolment in the
nursing program is limited and the selection process
is competitive. A supplementary nursing application
is required by March 1 in addition to the general
admissions application.
As for accommodations, you may choose from
Grenfell’s student housing, Monaghan Hall (adjacent
to the hospital), or off-campus in the Corner Brook
area. And you will have access to all services offered
through Grenfell Campus. You will be a member of
the Grenfell Campus Student Union as well as the
Canadian Nursing Students Association.

For 40 years, Western Regional
School of Nursing has been
showing students how to help
others heal. Since the first graduating class of 34
nurses received pins and diplomas in 1971, more
than 1,825 nurses have graduated from the school.
To mark the occasion, efforts are underway to
establish an alumni association.

Anne Wadhwa has fulfilled her passion for caring for others in two short years,
thanks to the fast-track BN program. She chose the program because she
wanted the knowledge, skills and opportunity to work close to home in an
exciting and rewarding career. “As well, I am interested in health research;
while in nursing school, I had the opportunity to work with nursing faculty
and staff on their research projects,” said Anne, a resident of Corner Brook.
“The nursing instructors integrate their practical experiences into their
classroom teaching which makes the classroom learning extremely
meaningful and interesting. They take a lot of pride in being a part of
the nursing profession and instill this sense of pride in their students.”
