Uakti is a Brazilian instrumental musical group that is composed of
Marco Antonio Guimaraes, Artur Andres Ribeiro , Paulo Sergio Santos
, and Decio Ramos . Uakti is known for using custom-made instruments,
built by the group itself.The site is placed in the middle of forest
of the University park in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The
institute of culture of Minas Gerais wanted to create a building for
bend, like an honor for they work. Programme is consisted of auditorium-concert
place, memorial center, place for workshops, administration
and study rooms for the group. Concept of the project was to
position activities, opening to trees that are surrounding the site.
Programme was divided in three cylinders with theme for every
cylinder : auditorium, memorial center with workshops and less public
space with study rooms for the bend. All the time we were leading in
the project by concept of the group, that is using : custom-made instruments
and playing instrumental music. So goal was to great a inspiring
place, calm, reconciled with nature.Materials used are concrete, glass
and bamboo facade.
