Set among sand, sea and rocky terrain, the resort’s Main Building<br />
eliminates physical and visual barriers by forming a relationship<br />
with its surroundings and blurring the distinction between<br />
manipulated and actual topography. The building accommodates<br />
the resort’s main food and beverage outlets, front and<br />
back-of-house areas, and public and leisure facilities. The<br />
building attempts to tackle the resort industry’s largest obstacle,<br />
“how can program adapt to seasonality”? The building’s unique<br />
temporal arrangement of program addresses this obstacle. In<br />
embracing topography, the building experience is intensified by<br />
the different circulation paths, relative to distance and time.<br />
