Riten Industries Inc. will <strong>in</strong>troduce a new mechanical face driver custom designed for gear hobb<strong>in</strong>g<br />
and gr<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g applications.<br />
“This driver gives <strong>the</strong> user <strong>the</strong> opportunity to drive <strong>the</strong> shaft from <strong>the</strong> face, expos<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> entire<br />
outside diameter for gear cutt<strong>in</strong>g or gr<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g,” says Travis Horton, Riten’s national sales manager.<br />
The workhold<strong>in</strong>g company will also unveil a new l<strong>in</strong>e of actuated face drivers.<br />
“The new Riten actuated face driver has a fixed center po<strong>in</strong>t that allows <strong>the</strong> workpiece to be<br />
mach<strong>in</strong>ed from a fixed datum, while offer<strong>in</strong>g drive p<strong>in</strong>s that are actuated by <strong>the</strong> draw tube of <strong>the</strong><br />
mach<strong>in</strong>e,” Horton says.<br />

Three Chucks and a Table: LMC Workhold<strong>in</strong>g’s New Products<br />
LMC Workhold<strong>in</strong>g will <strong>in</strong>troduce four new products at IMTS <strong>2004</strong>: a three-jaw chuck, a rotary<br />
table and two wheel chucks.<br />
The GHA6-8-66 is a big-bore, three-jaw chuck. At eight <strong>in</strong>ches, <strong>the</strong> high-speed chuck offers a<br />
66 mm thru-hole capacity to allow chuck<strong>in</strong>g of larger parts and larger diameter bars. Clamp<strong>in</strong>g<br />
repeatability of less than 10 microns ensures greater repeatability and improved quality parts,<br />
accord<strong>in</strong>g to Jay Duerr, sales & market manager for Logansport Matsumoto Co.<br />
For two-axis EDM applications, <strong>the</strong>re’s <strong>the</strong> MDET rotary table with a 5.91" diameter table and<br />
two-axis control with manual tilt<strong>in</strong>g/NC rotary axis operation.<br />
“The MDET rotary table is an affordable answer for two-axis submersible EDM work,” Duerr says.<br />
Two new l<strong>in</strong>es of wheel chucks will round out LMC’s display: <strong>the</strong> WTi and WDF series. Model<br />
WTiQ-323 is for quick changeover—from one wheel size to <strong>the</strong> next can take less than five m<strong>in</strong>utes—and<br />
it can chuck wheels with 15"–25" diameters at up to 2,800 rpm.<br />
The WDF deflash/degate wheel chuck is suited for pre-mach<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g operations for remov<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
flash and gat<strong>in</strong>g from cast alum<strong>in</strong>um wheels. The WDF series chucks wheels <strong>in</strong> diameters from<br />
15"–24" (all on a s<strong>in</strong>gle chuck<strong>in</strong>g).<br />
