―Thine is <strong>the</strong> power, <strong>the</strong> glory and <strong>the</strong> majesty....‖ (Revelation 4:9,5:<strong>12</strong>-13; 7:<strong>12</strong>). It is repeated <strong>12</strong><br />
times in each prayer to replace <strong>the</strong> psalms in <strong>the</strong> Agpeya prayers.<br />

At <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> every Pascha we pray <strong>the</strong> litanies and <strong>the</strong> conclusion.<br />
III. Pre-Pascha Events<br />
Jesus was gaining great popularity after raising Lazarus from <strong>the</strong> dead and His great entrance to<br />
Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. This triggered <strong>the</strong> authorities to plot His death.<br />
IV. Pascha Events<br />
The Eve <strong>of</strong> Sunday: Fragrant oil poured on His feet in Bethany. The smell <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> oil has filled <strong>the</strong><br />
whole place and expressed <strong>the</strong> love <strong>of</strong> Mary, <strong>the</strong> sister <strong>of</strong> Lazarus, towards our Lord. This was <strong>the</strong><br />
start <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> suffering during this Passion Week.<br />
Sunday Morning: The great entrance to Jerusalem with a warm welcome. His entrance was to start a<br />
heavenly kingdom in <strong>the</strong> hearts <strong>of</strong> those who are ready to accept Him, even when He appears weak<br />
on <strong>the</strong> cross.<br />
The Eve <strong>of</strong> Monday: The way towards Golgotha starts with prayer to streng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> faith <strong>of</strong> his<br />
disciples in Him.<br />
Monday Morning and <strong>the</strong> Eve <strong>of</strong> Tuesday: The Lord Leaves <strong>the</strong> house <strong>of</strong> Mary, Martha and Lazarus<br />
in Bethany and goes to <strong>the</strong> temple to teach. On His way, He cursed <strong>the</strong> fig tree, which had many<br />
leaves but no fruits. When He entered <strong>the</strong> temple he turned <strong>the</strong> table <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sellers indicating that <strong>the</strong><br />
house <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord is a house <strong>of</strong> prayers.<br />
Tuesday Morning and <strong>the</strong> Eve <strong>of</strong> Wednesday : On His way He passed again by <strong>the</strong> fig tree and it<br />
had wi<strong>the</strong>red. This was to streng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> faith <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> disciples. Then, He spent <strong>the</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> day in<br />
<strong>the</strong> temple discussing matters with <strong>the</strong> Pharisees and Sadducees. Jesus Christ had answered <strong>the</strong>m with<br />
many parables about <strong>the</strong> second coming and <strong>the</strong> heavenly Jerusalem. In <strong>the</strong> last our <strong>of</strong> Tuesday eve,<br />
<strong>the</strong> priests and <strong>the</strong> Jewish authorities planed His capture.<br />
Wednesday Morning and <strong>the</strong> Eve <strong>of</strong> Thursday: After Jesus returned from <strong>the</strong> temple, He did not<br />
want to go back.<br />

Judas agrees to deliver Jesus to <strong>the</strong> chief priests for 30 pieces <strong>of</strong> silver. On this evening, <strong>the</strong><br />
church arranged <strong>the</strong> congregation refrain from kissing as a greeting since it is <strong>the</strong> symbol <strong>of</strong><br />
Judas betrayal kiss.<br />
Thursday Morning and <strong>the</strong> Eve <strong>of</strong> Friday : The disciples prepared for <strong>the</strong> Passover, and <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong>y<br />
ga<strong>the</strong>red toge<strong>the</strong>r in <strong>the</strong> house <strong>of</strong> St. Mark to eat <strong>the</strong> Passover. Our Lord also washed <strong>the</strong> feet <strong>of</strong> His<br />
disciples on this day to teach <strong>the</strong>m to serve and to humble <strong>the</strong>mselves.<br />
On this Day also, Jesus Christ told Peter that he will deny Him three times.<br />
