II. Christ And Praise In The Psalms Of David<br />

The Psalms <strong>of</strong> David are a treasure that contains all modes <strong>of</strong> prayer.<br />

Thanksgiving: The Lord is my light (Psalm 27).<br />

Humility: Psalm 150.<br />

Glorification:<br />

The Lord is my Shepherd (Psalm 23).<br />

Lord. You have been favorable (Psalm 85).<br />

O Lord, how excellent is Your name (Psalm 8); Praise <strong>the</strong> Lord....<br />

The book <strong>of</strong> Psalms is one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most beautiful and deepest books, which speaks <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord. It is<br />

<strong>of</strong>ten referred to as <strong>the</strong> book <strong>of</strong> Jesus Christ, as He lives in <strong>the</strong> Psalms through symbols and signs:<br />

The Lord and Shepherd (Psalm 22.23).<br />

Christ <strong>the</strong> Rock <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ages (Psalm 17:5; Psalm 31:2-3; Psalm 40:2).<br />

The Light <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world (Psalm 27:1: Psalm 18:27).<br />

The Redeemer (Psalm 19:<strong>12</strong>-14; Psalm 69:15).<br />

The King (Psalm 2:6-8; Psalm 20).<br />

The Son <strong>of</strong> God (Psalm 2:10).<br />

The Priest (Psalm 110, Psalm 40).<br />

His suffering (Psalm 22; Psalm 35:11).<br />

His resurrection (Psalm 16:5-10; Psalm 110).<br />

Applications:<br />

Have <strong>the</strong> Book <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Psalmody at hand and quote some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> expressions used for praise.<br />

Encourage <strong>the</strong> youth to join <strong>the</strong> service <strong>of</strong> praise with <strong>the</strong> chorus and <strong>the</strong>ir leader, and to begin<br />

devoting a short time, <strong>the</strong>n gradually increasing <strong>the</strong> time to avoid boredom.<br />

Stimulate <strong>the</strong>ir enthusiasm to learn a few short songs <strong>of</strong> praise.<br />

Remove <strong>the</strong> problem and barrier <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Coptic</strong> and Arabic languages by publishing short<br />

explanations in English to <strong>the</strong> words <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> songs <strong>of</strong> praise, until <strong>the</strong>re is a scope to learn <strong>the</strong><br />

languages in <strong>the</strong> summertime.<br />
