Introduction:<br />

Review <strong>the</strong> previous lesson and verse.<br />

The rebellion <strong>of</strong> Korah, Dathan and Abiram as we studied in <strong>the</strong> previous lesson, had raised<br />

doubts in <strong>the</strong> hearts and minds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> Israel. They started to doubt <strong>the</strong> promises <strong>of</strong> God<br />

and to rebel against Moses and Aaron. Thus, <strong>the</strong> three rebellion men, although punished severely<br />

by God, had raised <strong>the</strong> feelings <strong>of</strong> anger, rebellion and doubt in <strong>the</strong> Israelites. So, <strong>the</strong> story did<br />

not end by <strong>the</strong> death <strong>of</strong> Korah, Dathan and Abiram with <strong>the</strong>ir families but ra<strong>the</strong>r started a general<br />

rebilling and murmuring attitude in <strong>the</strong> whole congregation.<br />

Lesson Outlines:<br />

Although <strong>the</strong> Israelites witnessed <strong>the</strong> severe punishment that God brought upon Korah,<br />

Dathan and Abiram, <strong>the</strong>y still continued to murmur against Aaron and Moses. They accused<br />

<strong>the</strong>m <strong>of</strong> killing <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord in <strong>the</strong> wilderness. They thought that <strong>the</strong>y are <strong>the</strong> killers <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> three rebilling men not God. The picture was confused in <strong>the</strong>ir minds. The congregation had<br />

ga<strong>the</strong>red against Moses and Aaron toward <strong>the</strong> tabernacle <strong>of</strong> meetings. Suddenly, <strong>the</strong> cloud,<br />

which indicated God‘s presence in <strong>the</strong> tabernacle <strong>of</strong> meeting, had filled <strong>the</strong> place. God in <strong>the</strong><br />

cloud had spoken to Moses and Aaron. He told <strong>the</strong>m to separate <strong>the</strong>mselves from <strong>the</strong><br />

congregation so He can destroy <strong>the</strong>m in a moment because <strong>the</strong>y murmured against <strong>the</strong>ir leader<br />

Moses and <strong>the</strong>ir priest Aaron who were chosen and guided by God.<br />

However, Moses and Aaron fell on <strong>the</strong>ir faces to <strong>the</strong> ground and asked God to forgive <strong>the</strong><br />

people <strong>of</strong> Israel despite <strong>the</strong>ir murmuring against <strong>the</strong>m. This shows <strong>the</strong> great forgiveness and care<br />

<strong>of</strong> both Moses and Aaron for <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> Israel although <strong>the</strong>y were rebelling and murmuring<br />

against <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
