Sunday School Curriculum <strong>Grade</strong> 5<br />

When <strong>the</strong>y came to Samaria Elisha prayed for <strong>the</strong> Lord to open <strong>the</strong>ir eyes and when <strong>the</strong><br />

Lord opened <strong>the</strong>ir eyes <strong>the</strong>y saw that <strong>the</strong>y were in Samaria. Now <strong>the</strong> king <strong>of</strong> Israel asked<br />

Elisha if <strong>the</strong>y should kill <strong>the</strong>m all but Elisha told him it is not right to kill captives.<br />

Instead Elisha asked to give <strong>the</strong>m food and drink and to send <strong>the</strong>m back to <strong>the</strong>ir king. So<br />

after <strong>the</strong>y ate and drank, <strong>the</strong>y went to <strong>the</strong>ir king and <strong>the</strong>y never came back to <strong>the</strong> land <strong>of</strong><br />

Israel.<br />

Conclusion:<br />

God protects His children from every danger no matter how big it is. He sends His angels to<br />

surround and camp around those who love Him and trust in His protection. We also need to<br />

depend entirely on God to keep us safe and to protect us from every evil.<br />

Search <strong>the</strong> Bible for ano<strong>the</strong>r story where God protected His prophet.<br />

The servant can prepare a simple cross word about this lesson and give it to <strong>the</strong> students to<br />

solve in <strong>the</strong> class and give prizes to <strong>the</strong> first to complete it.<br />
