3.0 Management Prescriptions<br />
3.1 Initial <strong>Enhancement</strong> Requirements<br />
• Remove broom, blackberry, daphne or any other invasive shrubs that become established.<br />
• <strong>Plan</strong>t two black hawthorne trees in each <strong>of</strong> the two areas where blackberry clumps were<br />
removed.<br />
• Decommission all unwanted trails (Drawing 11) by loosening trail substrate and seeding with<br />
seed from plants growing nearby. For some trails, measures may also have to be taken to<br />
prevent use after reseeding by blocking, or using signs.<br />
• Re create the south trail three metres above the highest area <strong>of</strong> direct tidal influence.<br />
• Construct a low viewing platform complete with short fences on each side to help reinforce the<br />
idea that people are not to proceed beyond the platform.<br />
• Erect signs informing people that dogs (on leash only) are permitted on the central trail only, and<br />
that no dogs are allowed on the new south trail.<br />
• Move existing benches on the north side to the central trail edge.<br />
3.2 Ongoing Maintenance Requirements<br />
Removal <strong>of</strong> invasive species, as required.<br />

3.4 Monitoring Schedule<br />
Every five years (or more frequently if required), evaluate the need to remove invasive species.<br />
