Trail Management<br />

• Construct boardwalk as shown in Figure 2 to provide the only access through the east side <strong>of</strong><br />

MU 13 between the dog-<strong>of</strong>f-leash area (MU 11) and the spit (MU 14) and parking lot (MU 18).<br />

• Decommission excess trails as shown in Drawing 10.<br />

3.2 Ongoing Maintenance Requirements<br />

• Annually cut blackberries back along the bordering train in MU 10<br />

• Check every three years and remove other invasive species as required.<br />

3.3 Initial <strong>Enhancement</strong> Costs<br />

• Cutting and rototilling <strong>of</strong> invasive<br />

species areas (years 1 and 2) & fall rye planting $1,600. @52/day for 3 events + seed<br />

• Tree and shrub planting costs<br />

– 2025 plants $11,330. @3.42, 6.85, 14.25<br />

– labour $4,050. @$2/plant<br />

• Board walk construction $1,000. for 40 m @ $25/m<br />

Total $17,980<br />

3.4 Monitoring Schedule<br />

After establishment <strong>of</strong> shrubs, monitor every third year to evaluate need to control invasive species.<br />
