3.1 Initial <strong>Enhancement</strong> Requirements<br />
Tree and Shrub <strong>Plan</strong>ting<br />
Invasive Species Control<br />
• East <strong>of</strong> multi use trail: remove invasive blackberry, tansy, and reed canarygrass by mowing and<br />
shallow rototilling in the early summer, and mowing again in the fall if necessary.<br />
• West <strong>of</strong> multi use trail: remove reed canarygrass and blackberry from the north half <strong>of</strong> the unit<br />
by mowing and shallow rototilling in the early summer, and mowing again in the fall if necessary.<br />
Soil Preparation<br />
• In the above invasive species control areas:<br />
• <strong>Plan</strong>t fall rye to provide winter ground cover and to add nutrients and organic matter,<br />
• then rototill shallowly again the following spring (preferably when the fall rye is still short<br />
enough to rototill easily (
