• Installation <strong>of</strong> a new spam e-mail filter for the <strong>Court</strong>,<br />
which significantly reduced the amount <strong>of</strong> spam<br />
received. As an example, during the month <strong>of</strong> June,<br />
the <strong>Court</strong> received 2,382,902 e-mails and 2,327,821,<br />
or 98 percent, were blocked.<br />
• Implementation <strong>of</strong> a statistics reporting and tracking<br />
system for reporting <strong>Court</strong> case statistics and caseflow.<br />
• Completion <strong>of</strong> the Lawyer to Lawyer mentoring online<br />
registration application.<br />
• Installation <strong>of</strong> 2008 Hypervisor, Micros<strong>of</strong>t’s newest<br />
virtual server s<strong>of</strong>tware, which <strong>of</strong>fers significant<br />
enhancements over its previous virtual server<br />
technology. This effort saved resources so the <strong>Court</strong><br />
can fully use its hardware assets.<br />
• Purchase <strong>of</strong> blade servers, which are more costefficient,<br />
smaller and lower power consumers than<br />
traditional box-based servers.<br />
• Completion <strong>of</strong> a CLE application revision to<br />
accommodate rule changes for new attorneys and<br />
attorney sanctions.<br />
• Modification <strong>of</strong> the case management system in the<br />
Office <strong>of</strong> the Clerk to accept credit card payments.<br />
• Upgrade and/or replacement <strong>of</strong> outdated or nolonger-supported<br />
personal computers and servers in<br />
the <strong>Court</strong>’s network.<br />
Office <strong>of</strong> Network & Technology<br />
Resources<br />
<strong>The</strong> Office <strong>of</strong> Network & Technology Resources manages<br />
the <strong>Court</strong>’s servers, desktop computers, laptop computers,<br />
computer network, network security, help desk, IT training<br />
classes, <strong>of</strong>f-the-shelf s<strong>of</strong>tware implementation, copiers, IT<br />
purchasing, audiovisual system, teleconferencing systems and<br />
telecommunications (voice, data, video) functions.<br />
During 2008, the Office <strong>of</strong> Network & Technology Resources<br />
and the Judicial College collaborated to implement a service<br />
enabling electronic learning and collaboration over the<br />
Internet. Participants can interact in real-time using different<br />
multi-media formats, in either large or small groups, by<br />
accessing the Internet from their individual desktop computers.<br />
