<strong>The</strong> Civic Education Section also:<br />

• Coordinated Off-Site <strong>Court</strong> sessions in Union and<br />

Shelby counties, which attracted about 1,120 student<br />

and teacher observers.<br />

• Hosted a reception for 320 guests to honor the artists<br />

and benefactors who support the extensive public art<br />

collection on display throughout the <strong>Ohio</strong> Judicial<br />

Center.<br />

• Hosted a six-member delegation <strong>of</strong> Ukrainian judges<br />

for a week-long study <strong>of</strong> the American judicial system.<br />

• Designed and produced four programs for the Judicial<br />

Family Network.<br />

• Produced a new mock trial program for middle school<br />

students.<br />

• Expanded its database to provide better information<br />

about group visits.<br />

Commission on the <strong>Ohio</strong> Judicial Center<br />

<strong>The</strong> Commission on the <strong>Ohio</strong> Judicial Center held its first<br />

meeting Oct. 24, 2008. <strong>The</strong> 11-member commission is charged<br />

with assisting and advising the <strong>Court</strong> on maintaining the artistic,<br />

architectural and historic integrity <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Ohio</strong> Judicial Center.<br />

At its initial meeting, the commission prioritized its initial<br />

activities by creating three committees, two <strong>of</strong> which develop<br />

standards<br />

related to the<br />

acquisition <strong>of</strong><br />

fine art and<br />

public use<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Ohio</strong><br />

Judicial Center.<br />
