Phonathon Helps Make the Dream Come Alive This year’s Phonathon to support the SUNYIT Annual Fund is in full swing with 14 callers reaching out to alumni, parents and friends three nights a week. As of the end of October, the Phonathon had generated $34,239 in pledges toward our goal of $100,000 for the 2003- 2004 Annual Fund Campaign. The generosity of those who support the Phonathon helps provide scholarships to students, support a unique learning environment among students and faculty, attract world-class faculty to SUNYIT and ensure the creation of a well-rounded student experience. During the Phonathon, current students have the opportunity to ask alumni about their careers and post-college experiences, and alumni are updated on the latest campus news and events. Each caller makes 80-100 calls a night, updating alumni records and receiving pledges. During the fall semester, the Phonathon ran from September 15 to November 24. Donors whose gifts are received by December 31, 2003, can use the donation as a tax deduction on their 2003 tax return. The Phonathon will continue in the spring semester with calls being made February through April. SUNYIT looks forward to a bright future filled with opportunities and achievements.
