Green Art Green Art is a global, contemporary social art movement. Other terms such as environmental art, eco-art and land art are also used. Green Art refers to any creative project which expresses, documents and/or responds to the natural environment. Green Art projects are often collaborative, involve a diverse range of artistic disciplines and focus on community engagement. Green Art is understood as a powerful tool for sustainability and cultural change because it brings people together, inspires and grounds community values in place and natural heritage, educates those involved about ecological processes and issues, and enlivens creativity and innovation. Green Art also promotes a shift to environmentally sensitive practices in the creative and cultural industries. The <strong>Sunshine</strong> <strong>Coast</strong> is home to a diverse and prolific range of Green Art projects and artists, including nationally and internationally recognised events such as Floating Land and Treeline (both appear throughout this calendar). These are alternating biennial programs that bring local and international communities and artists together, exploring issues such as climate change, water culture, the catchments and the trees of our region.
