Cindy and Jim Gehrig ’60 helped make Abbey peanut brittle in mid-<br />

Dr. Urban Terbieten ’43 wrote while en route from Stockholm to<br />

Turkey. Also, he commented on Mexican politics, religion, health care,<br />

resources, etc., while traveling south of the border.<br />

Jacob Didion ’08 is the Student Government & Student Body President<br />

at Lyon College in Batesville, AR.<br />

Day Dog Raffle ticket winners were announced at the October<br />

Four <strong>2011</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> alumni (presently studying at Benedictine College<br />

in Atchison, KS) visited with students, monks, and staff during their<br />

Fall Break in late October. Derek Pagel and J. P. Thomas received the<br />

Eagle Scout Award in a ceremony on Sunday, October 23, <strong>2011</strong>, in the<br />

Gallery of the Performing Arts Center. In the photo - L. to R : Derek<br />

George Lensing ’95, Alumni Development Coordinator, had lunch with Bill McNabb ’68 at the Lucky 32 in<br />

Cary, NC, and visited with Karen Johns (mother of recent grad, Taylor Johns ’11). George also received a tour of<br />

the NC State Legislature with Karen while in Raleigh, NC. Karen is the Legislative<br />

Assistant to Senator Rick Gunn. While in Chapel Hill, NC, George stayed<br />

with his uncle George (General) Lensing ’58 and also attended the North Carolina<br />

Tar Heel vs Miami Hurricane football game at Kenan Memorial Stadium. General<br />

and George enjoyed the game from the newly opened “Blue Zone” of the Stadium.<br />

George will be visiting with alumni in St. Louis, MO, for an Abbey and<br />

<strong>Academy</strong> gathering on <strong>November</strong> 11, <strong>2011</strong>, and then on to Seattle, WA, <strong>November</strong><br />

12-16, <strong>2011</strong>. If you would like to visit with George please give him a call on his cell phone 479-438-3360 or<br />
