Our Alumni continue to excel
Fr. James J. Berardi V51
Father James J. Berardi V51 celebrated the 50th Anniversary of
his Ordination to the Priesthood on Sunday, June 14, 2009. Father
Berardi co-celebrated the Mass in his honor at St. Paul’s Church and
then friends gathered to recognize and “roast” Father Berardi at
Guy’s Party Centre in the afternoon, hosted by Jerry Kelly, daughter
Teresa VM80 and Mark Pastor.

Ernest Vargo II, CFRE and Senior

Interim President and CEO for The
Wishard Foundation. The Wishard
Foundation provides philanthropic
support to Wishard Health Services and
the patients served through Wishard’s
many programs and services including
its Level 1 Trauma Center, the Richard
M. Fairbanks Burn Center and countless
primary and specialty care programs

Johnson, Grossnickle and Associates
(JGA) is a philanthropic consultancy whose senior consultants
offer client-focused, highly customized solutions. The firm provides
authentic and strategic philanthropic consulting to a variety of
organizations, notably those representing higher education,
independent schools, and cultural and community organizations
located in the central United States.
Ernie was also recently elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees
of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ernie
has also served as the Chair of the Alumni Advisory Committee for
the Lambda Chi Alpha General Fraternity and is the Founder of the
Prevention of Child Abuse Foundation.
Ernie and his wife Debbie Stott Vargo VM74 live in Carmel, Indiana
with their two children: daughter, Rachel graduated from Notre
Dame in 2008 and is currently attending Washington and Lee Law
School and son, Adam graduated from Midwest Academy in 2009.
Debbie is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Lafayette
Life Insurance Company.
Randy Malick VM77 has been a family entertainer for over 25
years. He has performed with Akron Children’s Theatre, St. Hilary
Drama Ministry, and traveled for several years with the international
drama troupe, Fisherpeople. Randy has written, produced and done
voice work for many radio commercials in the northeastern Ohio
region, and hosted the radio program, Kaleidoscope, on WKDD
and WCUE. He was a regular on TV 8’s PM Magazine. Randy has
also written several videos for children that have been produced
and distributed internationally, including “A Christmas For Little
Children.”
As a professional ventriloquist and puppeteer throughout the
US and Canada, making numerous appearances on national and
regional television. Randy and his sidekick, Bear Lee Heer, were one
of the featured acts at the international Vent Haven ventriloquist
convention in Cincinnati. He recently wrote and performed 28
video segments with four of his ventriloquist characters for Sadlier
Publishing K curriculum, “We Believe,” in New York City.

Randy is the Director of Religious Education for St. Hilary Church
and lives in Wadsworth with his wife Carol and their two children.

book about being a Pro Wrestling Announcer,
entitled “This Side of the Mic” and is offering
