St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group Limited - Annual Review 2007 St. Vincent's Private Hospital Some of last year’s activities: • The catering department held their Management Review Meeting’s in April and October. • A Healthy Eating week took place on the 4th June. • A New coffee machine was installed in the 2nd floor day room. • The 3 Marco boilers were serviced on the 9th July. • Gerard Kelly from CIR was on site on the 8th of August to verify corrective actions from last audit and then submit approval for certification to ISO 22000. • A coffee morning was held on the 19th September in the coffee shop and raised €286 for the Hospice. • The Catering Department received their certificate for ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management System) in October. • Complete Laboratory solutions carried out analysis on food products and hygiene swabs within the kitchen and coffee shop. • In December a raffle was held in the coffee shop for Focus Ireland and €3000 was raised. Audits ISO 22000 Stage 2 Audit was carried out by Centre for International Registration (CIR) out on the 9th January. Michele Pounch and Denise Ryan carried out 5 supplier audit visits in August (Barbeque Foods, Old McDonnells, Traditional Cheese, Euro Frozen Foods and Pierres/Cusine de France). Michele Pounch and Denise Ryan carried out a follow up audit in November with Euro Frozen foods to close out an issue previously raised. Joe Carroll of QMS carried out a systems audit to ISO 22000 on the 16th October. Surveys Four surveys were carried out in the catering department two in the patient catering area and two in the coffee shop. Patient Catering: on the beverage service and on the sandwiches at evening mealtime. Coffee Shop: New layout as a result of moving the sandwich bar and on selection of breads available at the sandwich bar. Return to Contents 98

St. Vincent's Private Hospital Training Thornton’s Recycling Training took place from the 16th – 19th January. The Quantum training finished on the 2nd March. Ger O’Nolan, Denise Ryan, Michele Pounch attended from the catering department. Denise Ryan and Yvonne Gleeson attended a minute taking course with the Irish Times on the 27th April. Conor Devlin and Leona Dowd attended a Waste Minimisation course on the 14th June. Yvonne Byrne attended an Attendance Management course on the 26th June. In July there was ISO 22000 training for the Food Safety Team and the kitchen staff. 7 people attended. Yvonne Byrne and Sinead Conroy attended Failte Ireland’s Training Techniques course during September. Failte Ireland Food costing training took place on the 15th and 27th November 10 staff attended from the kitchen, coffee shop and the patient area. Quantum Training carried out a management training programme March, May and November, Keith Wickham, Helen Dowd, Barbara McMullen, Jennifer Calton, Yvonne Byrne, Ger O’Nolan, Tina Purcell, Sinead Conroy, Denise Ryan, Margaret English, Siobhan Kelly and Michele Pounch attended. Yvonne Byrne attended Legal Framework 1&2 in SVUH during November. Waste Management training day took place on the 15th November for all staff.
