St. Michael’s Hospital
Infection Control: 2007 was a very busy year for the infection control team with the HIQA Hygiene Services
Quality Review and the changes in National Hygiene Standards. Patient information leaflets and a comment
section on hygiene were introduced into the patient satisfaction survey.
The Nursing Staff in St. Michael’s Hospital continue to be advocates for our patients and strive to deliver
efficient, effective and focused care.
To conclude, I would like to thank Mrs. Ann Riordan, Chairperson of the Fund Raising Committee and all her
team, for their dedicated work in organising functions and raising funds on behalf of St. Michael’s Hospital.
Sadly, in 2007, the committee decided to disband. I would like to thank all members of the Fund Raising
Committee and volunteers who participated on the Fund Raising Committee over the years.
I thank the Religious Sisters’ Of Charity and the Board of Directors’ for their commitment to developing St.
Michael’s Hospital.
I acknowledge and thank the members of the Executive Council, The Medical Forum and members of the
various other committees within St. Michael’s Hospital, for all their assistance and support during 2007.
I would also like to thank the Group Chief Executive Officer and the HSE for their support during the year.
Finally, I would like to thank St. Michael’s Hospital staff for their contribution in caring for our patients and
their families. Their dedication and the professionalism shown in their work is acknowledged and highly
appreciated.
