Future Plans<br />
An education programme to develop the Clinical Nurse<br />
Specialist role will be developed for all CNS’s in the Healthcare<br />
Group.<br />
Ms.Aine Geraghty, <strong>St</strong>aff Nurse in <strong>St</strong>.Joseph’s Ward was included<br />
in the Dean’s list for her achievement in the Bachelor of Science<br />
in Nursing at University College Dublin.<br />

‘Comparing <strong>and</strong> Contrasting Irish <strong>and</strong> Swedish Healthcare Systems<br />
<strong>and</strong> Reforms’ to visiting Swedish group of health professionals<br />
from Greater Council of <strong>St</strong>ockholm Region & Umea University<br />
in the Education <strong>and</strong> Research Centre, <strong>St</strong>.Vincent’s University<br />
Hospital (Patrick Gargan, 2003).<br />
Development of frontline management should continue through<br />
the provision of training <strong>and</strong> facilitation.To help achieve this,<br />
funding was secured to provide the LEO programme.<br />
The Hospital Redevelopment Programme requires the<br />
development of <strong>St</strong><strong>and</strong>ard Operating Procedures for the new<br />
building <strong>and</strong> the Department of Nursing will have an important<br />
role to play in this area.<br />
The Accreditation Programme yielded Quality Improvement<br />
Plans that will be developed <strong>and</strong> implemented over the coming<br />
year.<br />
