From the Risky to the Risque
In addition to its own
critically acclaimed
productions, North
Carolina Stage Company
has hosted some
of the most interesting
touring shows in downtown
Asheville. This
month, the intimate, 100-
seat theatre plays host to
two fantastic shows: the
fascinating one-man original
play Rattlesnake, and
the New York City-based
Sugar Shack Burlesque.

Mayo, Thursday May 5
at 8 p.m. The show stars

features many of North
Carolina’s most talented
burlesque dancers.

southern roots. With a
few costumes, a handful
of pasties, a bit of glitter,
two guitars and a uke these two burlqy babes
are hitting the road and joining forces with
the South’s most sizzling shows to spread the
burlesque love.
The very next weekend, May 12-14,
playwright and actor John Hardy performs
his acclaimed one-man-show Rattlesnake
at NC Stage. Rattlesnake
is a play unlike
anything you’ll ever see. It is a unique event.
Funny and engaging; harrowing and intense.

John Hardy has enjoyed
a thirty-year career as an
actor, playwright and director.
Many theatre-goers
will know him from
his work with the world
famous Barter Theatre in
Abingdon, VA.
North Carolina
Stage Company is Asheville’s
professional nonprofit
theatre, presenting
